The Great Pillow Art Challenge: An Art & Design Fundraiser To Help Homelessness
More than 20 local artists are using their talents to create a new fundraiser to benefit Mainers in need. Hurlbutt Designs, along with event founder and Kennebunk artist Danie Connolly, is thrilled to announce The Great Pillow Art Challenge!
WHAT: The Great Pillow Art Challenge is a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind, artist-made pillows that will benefit Portland’s Preble Street Teen Center and Kennebunk’s Community Outreach Services (COS)
September 21-28: In-Store Vote & Raffle
September 28th: Silent Auction (5 p.m. - 7 p.m.); Winner Announcement & Checkout (7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

WHO: National and internationally known artists participating include David Allen, Chris Becker, Claire Bigbee, Paul Bonneau, Dawn Burns, Danie Connolly, Pamela Jeanine DeSantis, Bob Dennis, Peter Dugovic, Sally Caldwell Fisher, Susan Inoue, LaFontaine, Brad Maushart, Dennis Perrin, Holly Chamberlain Ross, Kelly Jo Shows, Claire Unsinn, Annie Watts, Paula Webb, and Wade Zahares

MORE: Danie Connolly provided fellow artists from the Southern Maine area with a two-foot-square piece of cloth and asked them to create a one-of-a-kind work that was transformed into a pillow. The pillows will be displayed at Hurlbutt Designs on September 21-28, during which time everyone is invited to place a $5.00 vote for their favorite design and be entered into a raffle to win a pillow! A silent auction for all 26 pillows will be held on Friday, September 28th, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. 100% of all of the money raised goes equally to Preble Street Teen Center and COS.
